Food & Art Lab
WHERE FOOD AND ART COME TOGETHER
Food + Art Lab is our creative space for exploring what happens when food meets theatre, visual art, music, storytelling and the senses.
Working across disciplines, we create experimental projects and collaborations in which food becomes more than something we eat. It can become part of a performance, an installation, a story, a memory or a shared experience.
Bringing together Chef Julien Beuriot’s culinary practice and Dr Fenia Gianni’s work across theatre, behaviour and wellbeing, the Lab is a place for experimentation — connecting chefs, artists, performers, musicians and other creative practitioners around the table.
Some projects may become performances. Others may become dinners, installations, workshops or entirely new forms of experience.
This is where we experiment.
Where disciplines collide.
And where food becomes part of the art.

Food, Senses & Mindful Eating
The Lab also explores how we experience food, not simply what we eat.
Led by Dr Fenia Gianni, this strand brings together mindful eating, behavioural science, wellbeing and creative practice to reconnect us with our bodies and senses, and rediscover taste, pleasure, curiosity and creativity around food.
Through sensory experiences, workshops and creative exploration, mindful eating invites us to:
-
Reconnect with the body, recognising hunger, fullness and satisfaction.
-
Let go of automatic thoughts and behaviours around food and eating.
-
Rediscover taste and pleasure, experiencing food through all five senses.
-
Cook with creativity and imagination, making preparation playful, expressive and personal.
-
Give food time and space — from choosing and preparing ingredients to setting the table, eating and sharing.
-
Cook and eat with love, not guilt, developing a kinder relationship with food and the body.
-
Reconnect with where food comes from — the earth, seasons, ingredients, people and traditions behind it.
-
Feel more empowered in our choices, rather than governed by habits, rules and expectations.
At its heart, mindful eating is about bringing presence, pleasure and meaning back to food — and allowing cooking and eating to become something we experience, create and enjoy.
